The Land

meadow-portraitWe are located on 108 acres of ancient redwood groves and sunny oak meadows, Land of Medicine Buddha is a perfect place to allow the serenity and magic to wash away your cares and woes.

The hills are covered with beautiful groves of redwoods, lush ferns, seasonal flowers, the sound of gentle water trickling in the creek below and the occasional sightings of deer and other indigenous animals that call Land of Medicine Buddha home.

Our Eight Verses Pilgrimage Loop is complete with signs comprised of teachings on transforming problems into spiritual practice and benches for contemplation and meditation.

Both the lower and upper areas of our property have many holy objects, including prayer wheels to spin (clockwise), bells to ring (softly), temples to look at and circumambulate (walk around).

Please note that we are NOT an entrance to the state park. The entrance to Nisene Marks State Park is at Aptos Creek Fire Rd, Aptos, CA 95003.

Parking: priority is given to people who are participating in courses, retreats, and other programs at Land of Medicine Buddha. Day visitors may have to park outside. Look for signs. Weekends are especially busy.

Bicycles: not allowed on our paths or fire roads. You are welcome to ride your bike to Land of Medicine Buddha and then park it and lock it while you enjoy your visit on foot.
