The Land of Medicine Buddha is a picturesque retreat center tucked away on 108 acres of the coastal foothills near Santa Cruz.  There is no cell phone coverage here or internet it’s the perfect opportunity to unplug and enjoy being in nature with like minded people.

The center is an active buddhist community, but you don’t need to be a buddhist to enjoy this wonderful place, everyone is welcome. And they have a wonderful way of introducing Buddhist principles so that the novice can enjoy and appreciate the community in a way that is inviting and comfortable.

The retreat begins Friday evening with a freshly prepared and delicious vegetarian meal followed by restorative yoga. Saturday will include two yoga practices and evening meditation. There will be time during the day to enjoy  a 2 hour hike,  dip in the pool or read a book….. On Sunday morning we will practice yoga and participate in a lead Buddhist contemplation practice in one of the temples, our time together will conclude after Sunday lunch, but you are welcome to stay and enjoy the grounds longer if you like.

This retreat is suitable for students who have been practicing  yoga for 1 year or more and enjoy a practice that includes sun salutations or variations of. Classes will be mixed levels, offering varying degrees of intensity so that everyone has the opportunity to deepen their practice in an enjoyable way.
